Today was the haircut adventure and a trip to the famous Teg Wang Ge Pavillion, which means King Pavillion. It was originally built during th eTang Dynasty, but was most recently rebuilt in 1989... thus 89 steps to climb up. Matt did not enjoy the seaty trip to the pavillion so much and the 89 steps to climb. Of course at the top he had to go potty and there was no place to go. Our guide kindly showed us how you improvise here and led him to a loval garbage can. No one thinks a thing of that here... so all is well. Later we went to the haircut shop and had fun. They gave Evan a modern Chin$se cut... it looks great. The fella who cut Robert's hair wanted a photo with him for good luck he said. He was very good at his work and gave Rob the most detailed beard trimming with little scissors I have ever seen. They also wash your hair after which is nice, so then you don't have all the hair all over. There were probably over 20 stylists in this shop and each hair cut was about $3 with tip... what a deal!!!
We ended our adventure across the street to the local dumpling/steamed bread shop. We go 9 steamed veggie/pork buns for a total of 6 rmb which is less than a dollar. Evan is amazed at the costs of our food here. He has found some local eateries he really likes... the bakery and a place where he amazed me by eating his own 1 foot in diameter pizza, deep dish covered in all sorts of stuff. He loves his breakfast salad too! I better go join the crew for breakfast. Tomorrow we get our paperwork and spend our last day before heading to Guanj*ou... where the heat and prices will rise:O) Thank you for continuing to pray for Matt's sleep and the local people where there are now over 30 million who have lost their home due to flooding.
